Privacy & Cookie Policy

Introduction
Welcome to Tap Live Stats. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with, across both our website and our iOS and Android apps.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information to provide and improve our services:
- Account information (your name, email address, and profile photo) when you sign in with Google, or your email address if you sign in with a password
- Usage data including which pages and features you use and how you interact with them
- Device information such as browser or device type, operating system, screen resolution, time zone, and language
- Game and statistics data you record, including team names, scores, dates, and player jersey numbers. We do not collect player names, ages, or dates of birth.
- Cookies, browser local storage, and similar technologies used to keep you signed in and remember your preferences
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, and improve our sports statistics tracking services
- To understand how people use the platform and improve the experience
- To send game alerts you have asked for, and to notify you about updates, features, and important notices
- To analyze usage patterns and guide product development
- To display advertising in our mobile apps, which helps keep our free tier free
Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies, browser local storage, and similar technologies — small pieces of data stored on your device. We use two categories, and no advertising cookies:
- Essential: Required for the service to work, including keeping you signed in, remembering your selected league, and storing stats you record while offline
- Analytics: Help us understand how the service is used. These are tied to an identifier — your account ID when you are signed in, or an identifier derived from your device when you are not — so they are pseudonymous rather than fully anonymous
You can control cookies and local storage through your browser or device settings, and clear them at any time. Clearing essential storage will sign you out and may remove stats saved on your device that have not been synced.
Advertising
Advertising works differently on our website and in our mobile apps:
- Website: Our website shows no advertising of any kind. We run no ad network, no advertising cookies, and no ad tracking on the web.
- Mobile apps: Our iOS and Android apps show a banner ad supplied by Google AdMob. These ads are requested as non-personalized, meaning they are based on general context rather than a profile of your interests or browsing history. We do not ask for permission to track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
Premium subscribers see no advertising at all.
Third-Party Services
We rely on the service providers below. Each processes some data on our behalf and has its own privacy policy:
- Google Analytics: Analytics for our website and app. It records the usage and device information described above, tied to your account identifier when you are signed in, or to an identifier derived from your device characteristics when you are not.
- Firebase: Authentication, database, hosting, cloud functions, and push notifications. Firebase stores your account details, the leagues and games you have access to, and any stats you choose to sync to the cloud.
- Google AdMob: Advertising in our mobile apps only. Ads are requested as non-personalized, and AdMob is never loaded on our website.
- Stripe: Subscription payments. Checkout and billing management take place on pages hosted by Stripe, so we never see or store your card details. A Stripe customer record containing your email address is created when you register, whether or not you ever subscribe.
- Google Vertex AI: Our Ask JD assistant sends your question, along with the schedule and standings data needed to answer it, to Google’s Vertex AI. Your name, email address, and account identifier are not sent, and Google does not use this data to train its models.
These providers have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them to understand how they handle your data.
Ask JD and Artificial Intelligence
Ask JD answers questions about schedules and standings using Google’s Gemini model on Vertex AI.
- What is sent: the text of your question, plus the league schedule, standings, and game information needed to answer it — the same data already shown publicly on our schedule pages.
- What is not sent: your name, email address, account identifier, sign-in credentials, or any stats you have recorded privately on your own device.
We record how many questions are asked so we can manage cost and enforce daily limits. The text of a question is written to our diagnostic logs only when it fails to produce an answer, so that we can fix the problem, and those logs are deleted after 30 days.
Push Notifications
If you turn on game alerts, we store a notification token for your device so we can deliver them. The token identifies the device rather than you personally, and is removed when you turn alerts off or sign out. You can disable notifications at any time in your device or browser settings.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share data only with the service providers listed above, and only to the extent needed for them to perform their function on our behalf. We may also disclose information where we are required to by law.
Data Retention
We keep data only for as long as it serves a purpose:
- Account information is kept while your account is active, and removed when you ask us to delete it
- On the free tier, archived games are permanently deleted 60 days after they are archived
- Premium subscribers keep their archived games for as long as their subscription remains active
- Stats you record are stored on your own device until you delete them or clear your browser or app data
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data
- Opt-out: We do not currently offer an in-app analytics toggle. You can limit collection using your browser settings, Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or — in our mobile apps — by enabling Limit Ad Tracking in your iOS privacy settings, or by opting out of Ads Personalization in your Android privacy settings
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Tap Live Stats is used to record youth sports statistics, but accounts are for adults — coaches, scorekeepers, league administrators, and parents. Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Player statistics are recorded against jersey numbers only: the app has no field for a player’s name, age, or date of birth, and we hold no team rosters. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Deleting Your Account and Data
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: open Profile, then choose Delete Account and confirm. Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
Deleting your account permanently removes your sign-in credentials, your profile record, every game and player statistic you have saved to the cloud, your team alert preferences, and your registered notification devices. Games stored only on your device are cleared from that device at the same time.
If you have an active paid subscription, you must cancel it before you can delete your account. Deleting an account does not stop billing on its own, so we block deletion until the subscription is cancelled to make sure you are never charged for an account that no longer exists. Once cancellation is scheduled you can delete straight away, without waiting for the paid period to run out. Billing and payment records are retained by our payment processor for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
If you cannot access the app, you can request deletion by writing to us at info@taplivestats.com
Deleting Individual Data Without Closing Your Account
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove data you no longer want us to hold. You can delete a single game, or individual statistics within a game, and keep everything else — your account, your other games, and your subscription are unaffected.
To delete one game and every statistic recorded in it: open Saved Stats, expand Archived Games, find the game, then choose Delete permanently and confirm. If the game is still in your active gallery, open Track Player Stats and remove it from the gallery first, which moves it to Archived Games. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
To delete a single statistic without removing the game: open the game in Track Player Stats, find the entry in the recorded list, and delete it there.
Deleting a game permanently removes the game record and every player statistic belonging to it, both from the device you are using and from your cloud account. Deleting a single statistic removes that entry in the same way. Deleted data is not recoverable and is not retained in a holding area.
Data you have not asked us to delete is kept: your account and profile, your remaining games and their statistics, your alert preferences, and your notification devices. Billing and payment records are held by our payment processor for as long as tax and accounting rules require, and are unaffected by deleting game data. Deleting game data does not cancel a subscription.
If you cannot reach the app, or you want to ask us to delete specific data another way, write to us and tell us what you would like removed. Please write from the email address associated with your account so we can identify it. Our address is info@taplivestats.com
